As of March 2012, The Pro Shop has designated the following rules:
Relief Drop Areas
There are three relief drop areas on hole's #4, 9 and 12. If your ball comes to rest in the mulched flowerbeds, you may take relief and drop the ball in the designated drop areas, which are marked by a white circle that has the word "drop" inside of it. You do not have to take relief and can play the ball as it lies in the flowerbeds if you choose to.
#4 The drop area is at the beginning of the flowerbed. #9 The drop area is behind the green in between the mulched flowerbed and the two palm trees. #12 The drop area is on the right side of the cart path next to the steps that take you to the green.
There is also free relief from any tire ruts that have been left behind from any of our operating equipment. The drop may be taken to the nearest point and no closer to the hole.
IN GENERAL
10-stroke rule for Par Seekers still applies. Player must pick up after 10 strokes, even for the Low Putts game. (if you haven’t holed out in 10 strokes, you are disqualified in Low Putts. Continue to play, as a score will still be posted for your 9 holes.)
The 10-stroke rule does not apply during our two tournaments
Rule of thumb – Always keep up with the foursome in front of you. If you lose sight of the foursome in front of you…YOU NEED TO PICK UP THE PACE!
Tips: Be ready to tee off when you reach the tee box, other than our two tournaments, we play “ready golf”.
Be ready to hit your next shot.
When you leave the green, proceed to the next tee. There you can write in the scores from the previous hole..
There are no longer any points of relief on holes #4, #9, #12 and #13. Play it as it lies or play it as an unplayable lie. Unplayable lie rule: 2 club lengths from where the ball lies, no closer to the hole. 1 stroke penalty. If more relief is needed, take another unplayable lie and 2 more club lengths, adding another 1 stroke penalty. You may also go back to the location of your original shot and play it over taking a 1 stroke penalty.
HAZARDS AND SAND BUNKERS
Do not ground your club in a hazard or a sand bunker. (Grounding your club means touching the ground with your club head) doing so will result in a 2 stroke penalty.
Do not take extra clubs into a hazard or bunker. (The rake may go into the bunker.)
When taking a drop hold the ball at arm’s length, shoulder high. If the ball rolls into the water after being dropped twice, you may place the ball.
In a hazard, you may not move or touch anything. However, there is no penalty if you hit a branch, bush or tree in swinging the club. (The point is to not purposely change the hazard.)
AROUND THE GREEN
When approaching the green, you may choose to have the pin in or out of the hole.
If you hit some one’s ball when coming onto the green, there is no penalty; simply put it back to its original place on the green.
If you hit someone’s ball while putting on the green, you must play your ball as it lies and take a 2-stroke penalty.
The flag may be tended by someone to aid in the location of the hole. However, the pin must be out of the hole when your ball arrives. If your ball strikes either the pin or the person, you incur a 2-stroke penalty.
Mark your ball by putting the marker BEHIND the ball.
Do not touch or move your ball in any way without first marking the ball. Doing so will incur a 2 stroke penalty.
If you’re asked to move your marker, you may do so by going left or right one putter head. Make sure you replace the ball before you putt. Failure to do so will incur a 2-stroke penalty.
It is always wise to mark your ball as many of us play with the same brand. Hitting someone else’s ball will incur a 2-stroke penalty.
Have a good time and enjoy the day!
