Par Seekers Club Championship
Format:
Stroke Play: Players record the number of strokes taken at each hole and total them up at the end of the round. Do not pick up after 10 strokes. You must play the ball until it is holed. Count all strokes taken.
Rules: --3 minutes only to hunt for a ball --Be ready to tee off (after writing scores from the previous hole) as soon as you reach the tee box. Do not sit at the previous green entering scores. --Bunkers – you can take an “unplayable lie” in any bunker and drop the ball behind the bunker. 1 stroke penalty --When a ball goes into a penalty area and the player decides to move the ball outside of the area (1 stroke) the ball must be dropped where the ball went into the area, not where it landed. Lost or Out of Bounds --Drop a ball near the edge of the fairway at an estimated distance that is the same as where the ball is lost or out of bounds – 2 penalty strokes. Or --Return to original spot and hit again – 1 penalty stroke. Embedded ball --Player can take free relief if the ball embeds outside of a penalty area. Other players need to be informed of this before taking relief. Player may lift, clean and drop the ball as closely as she can to where the ball became embedded, no closer to the hole. A mark must be placed before lifting the ball, just like on the green. Hole #3 --There is no out of bounds on the right side of the hole which borders the Executive Course. You must play the ball as it lies. Hole #6 --If your ball goes into the water, you may drop another ball 2 club lengths from the red line where the ball crossed land and went into the water (on-the-line relief, back as far as you want) not where the ball landed in the water. 1 penalty stroke. Hole #11 -- If your ball goes into the water, you may drop another ball 2 club lengths from the red line where the ball crossed land and went into the water (on-the-line relief, back as far as you want) not where the ball landed in the water. 1 penalty stroke. The weekly Par Seekers rule for hole #11 does not apply. After 2 balls in the water, do not go across the water and drop. You must hit across the water. Hole #12 --If your ball lands in the mulched flowerbed, you get a free drop, no closer to the hole. --You can hit the ball out of the flowerbed if you wish. Hole #13 --No free relief. Play it as it lies or play it as an unplayable lie. --Unplayable lie rule – 2 club lengths from the spot where the ball lies, no closer to the hole – 1 stroke penalty. Hole #14 -- If your ball goes into the water, you may hit another ball from the tee. 1 stroke penalty. Or, you may drop another ball 2 club lengths from the red line where the ball crossed land and went into the water (on-the-line relief, back as far as you want) not where the ball landed in the water. 1 penalty stroke. The weekly Par Seekers rule for hole #14 does not apply. After 2 balls in the water, do not go across the water and drop. You must hit across the water. Hole #17 --The area to the right of the 150-yard marker is a lateral hazard and is marked with red stakes. You must play the ball as it lies or incur a 1 stroke penalty to bring it out 2 club lengths from the red line WHERE IT WENT INTO THE HAZARD, NOT WHERE IT LANDED. --If your ball goes into the bottlebrush trees to the right of the cart path, you must play it as it lies or take an unplayable lie (1 stroke) and drop it in the designated drop area, which is the white circle left of the cart path. If you can’t find the ball, then the lost ball rule is in effect. 10 Stroke Rule --The 10-stroke rule does NOT apply during the Club Championship (CC) and President’s Cup (PC) tournaments. |
