Tampa Bay Golf and Country Club is located on State Road 52 and runs along I-75. We are a gated community with over 1400 homes, a Championship 18-hole golf course and a 9-hole executive course. The Par Seekers play the Championship course every Wednesday morning and all female members of the community are encouraged to join.
In 1999 while President of Tampa Bay’s 18-hole Women’s Golf Association, President Pat Taylor felt there was a need for a nine-hole golf league to be available for the women residents in Tampa Bay. She appointed Betty Sprague to be on the TBWGA Board as the representative for the nine-hole league. They played under the Constitution and By-Laws of the 18-hole league with about 20 girls playing that year.
In 2000 Betty Sprague felt they had enough playing members to form their own league. They withdrew from the 18-hole TBWGA. The name Par Seekers was decided on and a Constitution and By-Laws were drawn up as well as a full slate of officers with Betty Sprague being President.
In 2014 Par Seekers had a membership of 60 women. We are currently into our new year and expect to have even more members as new homes are being sold everyday.
