2020 PAR SEEKERS PRESIDENT’S CUP RULES OF TOURNAMENT MATCH PLAY ($5 FOR 3 WEEK TOURNAMENT) This is a Handicapped Event
All Participants must be available to play ALL required rounds.
All participants must be in the parking lot and ready for play 20 minutes before the tee time or they will be disqualified.
Match play means you play your own ball until you have “holed out” or you concede the hole because your opponent has already holed out with fewer strokes than you already have. No one picks up after 10 strokes. One of you must complete the hole.
You win a hole if you complete the hole with fewer strokes than your opponent.
You win a round if you have won more holes than your opponent. If you win a round, you continue the following week to the next round with a new opponent.
You are eliminated from match play when you have lost a round to your opponent.
If you have a bye, it’s your choice to play or not, but you would not be in competition for that day. You would be in competition the following week in the next round.
Hole #4: If you hit your ball into the pampas grass on the right and can find your ball, you must play your ball as it lies. There is no drop area.
If you cannot find your ball, it is a lost ball and you must hit another ball from the tee with a one stroke penalty or the Local Rule allows you to drop a ball near the edge of the fairway at an estimated distance that is the same as where your ball was lost or went out of bounds. It will cost you two penalty strokes. So, instead of returning to the tee (or the last place you played from) you may take two penalty strokes and follow the options in this Local Rule.
Hole #6:
A. If your ball goes directly into the water, you take a penalty with 3 options: 1. Tee off again;
2. Find the line of sight by lining up the hole with the spot where your ball crossed the red line. Then you may go back as far as you wish in that line;
3. Drop the ball 2 club lengths from where the ball crossed the red line – no nearer the hole.
B. If you ball crosses the water, lands on the bank above the red line and then rolls into the water, you must go 2 club lengths sideways from the spot where it crossed the red line – not up the bank and not nearer the hole.
10. The weekly Par Seekers rule for holes #11 & 14 do not apply. Do not go across the water and drop after 2 balls in the water. You must hit across the water. If you ball goes into the water on the side of the fairway, play your ball 2 club lengths from where the ball crossed the red line and not nearer the hole.
